Honoring the life, work, and wishes of Mike Mansfield, the Maureen
and Mike Mansfield Center supports the study of Asian peoples
and cultures and in particular of American-Asian relations.
The Center is an academic unit within The University of Montana
and enjoys core funding from an endowment managed by the Maureen
and Mike Mansfield Foundation. With a focus on East Asian histories
and cultures, the Mansfield Center faculty offer classroom instruction,
conduct research, and organize conferences, dialogues, and retreats
related to the mission of the Center. The Center faculty collaborate
with the University's Asian Studies program, comprised of thirty-two
faculty.
